George Zimmerman: First He Was White, Then He Was Latin, Now He's Mixed With Black??

Ancestry.com maybe needed in order to determine what is the real ancestry of George Zimmerman, the man who shot and killed Trayvon Martin, a black teenager in February.

When the story initially broke George Zimmerman was portrayed as a white man in his late twenties.  Later, reports surfaced that he is of Latin descent.  Now, new reports are claiming that he is of mixed heritage, and his maternal great grandfather is Afro Peruvian??

Per Brian Blanco/Associated Press:

The 28-year-old former neighborhood watchman is depicted in the media as an “angry white man” with hatred toward other ethnic groups. That narrative fits perfectly with liberals’ view of America as a racist nation in which black children live in constant fear of white vigilantes, but this story is taking some interesting twists.

The neighborhood watchman shot an unarmed Martin inside a gated condo complex in Sanford, FL.

It turns out he is of mixed ethnicity, and has “black roots through an Afro-Peruvian great-grandfather – the father of the maternal grandmother who helped raise him.”
The complex guard was clearly overzealous when he confronted Martin, but young black men were suspected in a recent rash of break-ins in the area. The details of their altercation are murky, but witnesses support Zimmerman’s version of events.

Zimmerman has already been prosecuted in the court of public opinion, so it’s impossible to hold a fair trial. Most people have formed their opinions, but hopefully this new information will present a more nuanced picture of the tragic event.

Knowing this...does this change your perception at all of this unfortunate situation?
