Carmen Is Not Impressed with Nas' Song Daughters

Nas' 17 year old daughter Destiny is the focus of the song Daughter's released by the rap legend off his upcoming LP "Life Is Good".

In this song, Nas discusses his shortcomings as a father and the challenges he's had to face in raising a teenage girl.  In the song he talks about her instagraming a box of condoms that she keeps by her bed.  She also talks about sex and her Mercedes Benz that she affectionately calls Cocaine!

This among other issues have sparked the song by Nas...

Destiny's mother, Carmen is not impressed at all.   She posted on her twitter page:

She then addressed Nas and her critics:
Im a mother first, and if Destiny is upset about something-that makes me upset.
I think he really didn't realize how the song would affect Destiny. He should have allowed her to hear if first.
His short coming was humiliating her in public by rehashing the mistakes she has made via a song. Not right.
...humiliate our children on wax for the mistakes that they make. Who does that?
I didn't hear anything positive in that song.
That song was created b/c he felt like he owed his listeners an explanation. Period. And I don't.
He doesn't owe his fans an explanation with regard to what goes on with Destiny, she is his daughter not his artist. Period.
That's why he addressed. He cares what you guys think about him. That song was for YOU..not Destiny.

If you haven't heard the song, listen here:

I love Nas, although I am not sure this was the best way to handle the situation.  Airing out your teenage daughters issues or faults can cause more harm than good.  She is clearly at a vulnerable stage and desperate for attention.  I am not sure if this is the type of attention that she needs.
